What’s a Black Taj Mahal?

Mumtaz Mahal was ShahJahan’s third wife who secured a last breath promise from him. Promise was that he would construct an astonishing monument in her memory. Keeping the promise, ShahJahan constructed white Taj Mahal, dedicated to his wife, also known as a symbol of eternal love. After the Taj Mahal’s construction, ShahJahan wanted to build another Taj Mahal, across the other side of river Yamuna, with black marble. According to his proposal, a bridge would construct and joining the two structures, the white Taj Mahal Mumtaz’s Tomb and black Taj mahal Shahjahan’s Tomb.

Why there’s no Black Taj Mahal?

Shahjahan started to build his Tomb that is black taj mahal. But the war with his son Aurangzeb ruined everything. According to Aurangzeb, Shahjahan his father was in subconscious state of mind and in love with Mumtaz and was wasting a lot of money unnecessarily in constructing monuments. Aurangzeb winning the throne from his father, then jailed Shahjahan in the Agra fort, where he toppled to death. The Black Taj Mahal plan didn’t complete as the Aurangzeb was holding the Throne and he never wanted it to happen.

Several times, I have questioned myself that “Why Shahjahan wanted to Construct another Taj mahal ?” and Why A black colour Taj Mahal ? Was he willing to convey some message to the world, like to differentiate between Heaven and Hell. Or a Road to Heaven. But all these question remains unanswered, the myths and flow like rumours. I wonder if ever there’s a Black Taj Mahal, then things were different and have revealed buried facts or other hidden myths.

I don’t claim that all above is true, but this was my perception after visiting Taj Mahal. If you want to share your views with us or anything relevant to Taj Mahal, then you can post a comment below, appreciate it.
